Biography
As
has been the case with many things in my life, scuba diving is something
I just kind of fell into when
the opportunity afforded itself at the right time and the right
place. I was wandering around a Ski show looking for snowshoes when
I happened upon a booth set up by a local dive shop. I had always
wanted to try scuba diving but had never even snorkeled. They were
offering a Discover Scuba experience and I figured why not? At that
first session, 2 minutes underwater and I was hooked! Where do I
sign up?
Well,
almost 6 years have passed since my first dunk and if anything,
I'm more excited now than I was when I began. Over these years I've
done lots of training, gone on many trips, made lots of friends,
seen lots of sites. And have almost 600 dives to show for it.
In
this past year I've become an Instructor, got a Solo Diver certification,
and started on the road to Cave Diver by getting a Cavern certification.
I also became an EFR Instructor. I have a couple of trips already
lined up for the new year, and have decided to become a DAN Instructor.
I'm looking forward to many more dives and fun with my dive buddies
and to sharing my love of this sport and of the underwater realm
with others. There's nothing quite as cool as seeing someone's eyes
light up when they take their first breath underwater. Every time
I see that I remember my first time and get excited all over again.
Not a bad way to spend time.
