Pacific NW Fish ID Specialty
(taught by Janna)

• About 5 hours of classroom time
• Two Open Water survey dives
• Student receives PADI Project AWARE/Fish ID Specialty Certification

Here's your chance to learn how to identify more than just your standard Wolf Eel, Ling Cod and Shark! Identifying marine fish can make your dives much more exciting, and you will also learn how to help with the Great Annual Fish Count, an event held every July.

This is a PADI specialty class, and can count as one of your specialties towards your Master Scuba Diver rating.

This class is FUN! Hands on, no boring scientific lectures, plenty of student interaction!

Most of the photos for the course were taken by me in my dives around the Pacific NW. If *I* can see these critters, so can you!

Optional but recommended materials:

• Coastal Fish ID text - $32.95 retail
• REEF Starter Kit - $15

 To receive the PADI Fish ID specialty certification, and the REEF Level II surveyor rating, students will need to:

• attend both class sessions
• pass the quiz with 80% or higher
• complete the knowledge review (found in the PADI Adventures in Diving textbook)
• go on two dives with me
• complete two fish surveys on those dives

This class is great for the beginner who knows little or nothing about marine Fish ID, and also great for those who want to brush up on what they already know and learn even more!
