Peak Performance Buoyancy

  • One classroom/ pool session
  • Three hour classroom session
  • Two Open Water dives *(usually done on a Saturday)
  • Student receives PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Certification

* The elective Peak Performance Buoyancy dive conducted during your AOW class may be counted as 1 of the 2 dives at the instructor's discretion.

Tired of bouncing to the surface or dragging on the bottom? Don't want want to continually waste air filling and dumping your BCD? Interested in appropriately weighting yourself specific to your planned dive activity or need advice in what type of weighting system is right for you? This class can cover these issues and more.

This is a PADI specialty class, and can count as one of your specialties towards your Master Scuba Diver rating.

This class is interactive, fun, and gives you the opportunity to work on your buoyancy.

  • Class fees only - $175
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy video and booklet (optional) - $25 retail*

* Many local dive shops carry the PADI Peak Perfomance Buoyancy Specialty packet. We cannot guarantee what price those packets are sold for. If you would like us to order a packet at the price offered above, we will need advanced notice and please allow for at least 2 weeks delivery time (estimated delivery from PADI to us).

As with most classes offered via Pacific NW Scuba, we invite students who have previously taken the class and want to join us for the pool session or open water dives - FREE!

To receive the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty certification, students will need to:

  • attend the class session
  • attend the pool session
  • complete the knowledge review (found in the PADI Adventures in Diving textbook)
  • go on two dives with me

Materials required for the class are:

  • Your sense of humor
  • Your own gear or please arrange for your own rentals for both the pool and open water sessions
  • Extra weights: If you have them to use, it's always best to make adjustments using your personal weights.

This class is great for the beginner who is still working on his or her buoyancy skills, and also great for those who want to fine tune his or her weighting systems for specialized activities or work on reducing the current amount of weight worn!
