July 2009
The great weather seems to be bringing out the divers, and our survey numbers for the area reflect this! Keep up the great work! Online Flashcards Larry
Osterman, a Port Townsend Marine Science Center volunteer, has filled
a big gap by creating free online flashcards for all three Pacific NW
REEF classes. (Basic Fish, Inverts, Advanced Fish). Thanks Larry!! Check
'em out here: New Experts Gregg
and Carol Cline of Salem, OR have been busy studying their fish and
inverts and conducting surveys. They recently took and passed the REEF
Level 5 test for the Pacific NW, so they are now our newest members
of the Advanced Assessment Team. You can view their happy mugs here: Port Townsend BBQ/Dive photos posted We
had a great turnout and lots of food and fishie fun! You can see the
pics from this event here: Click! Click! Click! It's not too late to enter the SeaDoc Society's annual July photo contest for REEF surveyors. Check out the details on SeaDoc's website. The Beatles would be proud Pete
Naylor has done it again. He's written up this month's mystery critter,
and posted a very cool photo. See if you can guess what it is: Are you on Facebook? Join our Pacific NW Critterwatchers FaceBook group by clicking here.
That's it for now! Happy and safe diving! -
