  • August 2007 - Three of these were found at West Pulali - deflated looking Shiny Orange Sea Squirts
  • August 2007 - Invasive colony of Botrylloides violaceous at Rosie's Ravine. Previously unseen there.
  • August 2007 - Invasive tunicates, Ciona savignyi at Rosie's Ravine.
  • 6/11/2007 - Participants of the June 2007 survey: Janna Nichols, Phil Green, Jackie Coletta, John Rawlings, Sarah Hillebrand, Ty Hillebrand, Don Coleman (captain)
  • 6/11/2007 - Dead Plainfin Midshipman carcases abounded. This is not related to low oxygen, but is a seasonal 'normal' thing. The Plainfin Midshipman comes to shallow waters in Spring / early summer, to lay eggs, then the fasting males guard the eggs, then die.
  • 6/11/2007 - More dead Plainfin Midshipman carcasses were found at each of the 3 sites we were able to dive today.
  • 6/11/2007 - Here's an actual LIVE Plainfin midshipman.
  • May 17th, 2007 - Sund Rock entry. We had a minus 3 tide today. It was a looong walk down to the water! Visibility was good until you hit about 25 feet, then down past 60 was this extremely thick layer of plankton. Once descended below 60 feet or so, viz opened up again, but it was pitch black down there.
  • May 17th, 2007 - Most of the Northern Ronquils we saw were displaying their breeding colors/patterns.
  • May 17th, 2007 - The invasive tunicate, Ciona savignyi, was very scarce. We did find about 15 specimens and collected about half of them. Some were too far under rocks or in cracks, to be able to grab.
  • May 17th, 2007 - I found a number of juvenile Black Rockfish swimming about. I would guess they were about 12 cm in size.
  • February 2007 - HCDOP Survey participants
  • December's HCDOP Survey participants
  • Point Whitney, 1/15/07, Sunflower Star still showing some signs of stress. Gill sacs hyperextended, and webbing between arms is showing. Eating a crab. (hey, at least it's hungry!) :)
